Please be informed that the schedule for the PKMC December 2008 examination is revised as follows:

The examinations will be held over 2 Saturdays in response to requests by candidates to have more time to prepare for the examinations.

The closing date for submission of the examination enrolment form for the above examination is November 7, 2008.

GBQ Special Examination Sitting

We are pleased to announce that the Institute will be organising a special examination sitting for Banking and Financial Services Certificate (BFSC), Certificate in Offshore Financial Services and Administration (COFSA) and Diploma in Banking and Financial Services (DBFS) candidates who have one or two subjects outstanding to complete their respective qualifications.

On compassionate grounds following appeals from candidates, the Council is providing one last opportunity for those candidates who are very close to completion to sit and complete their remaining examination papers. Coaching via e-tutorials will be organised for registered candidates to assist them in their examination preparation.

We will notify the relevant candidates by post on this special sitting with supporting documents and information in the week of April 21, 2008. For assistance, please contact Pn Zubidhah (ext 134) or En Asri (ext 126) at telephone no. 03-20938803 or email us at certification@ibbm.org.my .

Revised exam sessions for the PKMC examinations
(Effective year 2008)

With effect from 2008 the Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia Certificate (PKMC) examination sessions will be revised from two(2) exam sessions to three(3) exam sessions per year. The exam sessions will be held in the months of May, August and December for the year 2008. Each session comprising the Modules I - IV examinations will be held over one(1) weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Click here for the examination time-table and related deadlines.

Revision in Reinstatement Policy

The current reinstatement policy requires deregistered members to pay their subscription arrears for their 2nd and subsequent reinstatements. This policy has now been revised to allow payment of a flat reinstatement fee on a sliding scale depending on the number of years of lapsed membership.

Library System Upgrade: Library Borrowings Suspended on May 3 & 4, 2007

Graduation and Awards Ceremony 2007

The Institute will be holding its 10th Graduation and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur. We have sent out individual invitations to all Year 2006 graduates of the various IBBM qualifications as well as prize winners (RSVP March 31, 2007).

The Institute's Chairman, Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, will grace the ceremony and the Chief Executive Officers and Heads of Human Resources of financial institutions have been invited to the event. We look forward to celebrating the success of IBBM's year 2006 graduates and prize winners.

Graduates/prize winners who have confirmed their attendance at the ceremony, please take note of the following administrative details. These details will also be posted to you together with the confirmation letter by the third week of April 2007. Extended Information Centre Opening Hours from April 9 - 13, 2007

The IBBM Information Centre, Kuala Lumpur will be extending its opening hours from April 9 - 13, 2007 for the benefit of members who will be sitting the IBBM general banking qualification examinations in April 2007. The extended opening hours is as follows:

Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 7:00pm
Friday 9:00am - 7:00pm

 

Closure of Information Centre, April 14, 2007

In conjunction with the 11th IBBM Treasure Hunt on April 14, 2007, the Information Centre will be closed on the 2nd Saturday of the month and resume its usual Saturday operations on April 28, 2007 (4th Saturday).

Closure of Information Centre for Annual Stocktake

The IBBM Information Centre will be conducting its annual stocktake exercise from 20 - 24 November 2006.

To facilitate the work, the Centre will be closed and the book loan service will be suspended during this period. However, books due during this period can be returned either on or before the due dates. The Centre will resume operation on 27 November 2006 (Monday).

This is a reminder to members who possess the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification that they have until 31 December 2006 to apply for conversion to the Registered Financial Planner (RFP) designation. CCP Consumer Credit Study Materials

The Institute has published a new edition of the Certified Credit Professional (CCP) Consumer Credit study materials which are applicable for the Paper 2 - Consumer Credit and Paper 4 -Applied Consumer Credit examinations. This 2nd edition is effective from the September 2006 examinations. Note that the 1st edition is still used for the July 2006 Paper 4 examination and will be discontinued thereafter.

The Institute will be distributing the 2nd edition to active CCP candidates who have enrolled for the Paper 2 examination previously but to-date have not completed the Paper 2 or Paper 4 examinations. The new study materials will be distributed progressively to candidates in order of priority of their earliest eligible sitting where the 2nd edition is applicable. Please note that the materials will be sent to the candidate’s last known address in IBBM’s records. Kindly update us if your mailing address has changed.

Candidates should check that they receive the 2nd edition before the enrolment closing date for the examination that they are enrolling.
