What is OPAC?

OPAC stands for Online Public Access Catalogue. OPAC is an integrated catalogue of all books, periodicals, audiovisuals materials and multimedia located in IBBM’s Information Centre and its branches. You can also check on your book loan transactions, reserve books out on loan and making online renewals.

How do I use the OPAC?

Finding materials in the Information Centre is a breeze if you are able to search OPAC like a professional. View the Guide to Accessing the OPAC(pdf).

How do I access the service?

You can access the OPAC in two ways:

From a computer in the Information Centre
From a computer connected to an Internet network outside the Information Centre

 

How do I log in to my OPAC account? (Current IBBM Information Centre members only)

When you wish to access your OPAC account, you will need to key in your Patron ID and Password.

    Patron ID
    Key in your IBBM membership number
    Password
    Key in your new Identification Card Number (IC No.). After logging in, click on Change Password if you wish to change your password (recommended for security purposes).

 

How do I find materials using the OPAC?

You can search and find materials that you want with ease.

Simple Title Search

Select title from the drop-down list and type in your title keywords in the search box.
Example: Strategic Corporate Finance

Author Search

To do an author search, select Author from the drop-down list and type in the name of the author in the search box. Enter keywords if you are not sure about the exact name of the author, editor or organisation.
Example: Covey

Call number Search

To search by call number, select Call Number from the drop-down list. Type in the Call Number of the item you are looking for.
Example: 332.10688 MCI
